If you guys are looking for a break from the markets, then I have just the video for you…
Have you ever wondered what the difference between CBDCs and cryptocurrencies are? Some of you might laugh at the question because the difference is obvious, but this isn’t obvious to everyone. That’s a problem because CBDCs are starting to be rolled out.
While CBDCs and cryptocurrencies do have a shared history, they were fundamentally designed with two different purposes in mind: one seeks to control the current financial system whereas the other seeks to replace the current financial system.
Things also look deceivingly similar under the hood. Most CBDCs will be using a distributed ledger technology of some sort, and some claim to be using blockchain. As I explain in the video, however, these terms are extremely deceptive, possibly by design.
The economics of CBDCs and cryptocurrencies are where things really start to diverge because the former system involves an infinite amount of manipulation whereas the latter has economics built into its code.
Funny enough, a CBDC based economy wouldn’t look all that different than a cryptocurrency based economy, but there’s a lot more than meets the eye here too. These are just a few of the reasons why it’s easy to think CBDCs are just another class of cryptos.
This could not be further from the truth, however, and by the end of this video, you’ll know just how different these two financial technologies really are.
Be sure to share it with any friends or family who you think need to know about it, because CBDCs are coming.
