FOMC Meeting: Things Have Changed - What It Means!
Hey Guys,
I couldn't help but notice that you enjoy our analyses of the Federal Reserve's press conference. Given that the Fed recently released the minutes to its November meeting, I figured it take a crack at summarising it, especially since it moved the markets.
It's interesting to see the back and forth that apparently takes place between the FOMC members during these meetings. It's even more interesting to see that they are privately on the same page about rate hikes. Publicly, it doesn't look like it!
More importantly, there were a few gems in the minutes that the headlines seemed to have missed. One of these is the fact that most central banks are actively losing money since interest rates went up. Luckily for them, they don't have to be profitable.
