There are a lot of tail risks lurking in the waters of the crypto market, and one of them is a stablecoin crackdown. This is something we’ve been keeping track of for almost a year, and it seems the saga has entered another chapter.
The Fed recently released a stablecoin report where they compare stablecoins to money market funds. At first glance, this seems like a dry and boring topic. Upon closer inspection however, it could be bad news for stablecoins.
The report itself is also quite fascinating. It reveals exactly what happens when stablecoins depeg, and at what point people start to panic. As always, we give you some additional alpha that the authors missed (or omitted on purpose!).
